Surprise! Somehow it’s almost the end of January already and I’m just getting around to my December challenge wrap up, as well as my challenge wrap up for the entire year… and since I didn’t read a ton in December (4 books total), I think I’ll focus on my year-end wrap up. All the books are listed in the order I read them so I’ll just bold the applicable December titles!
Overall I did really well with two of my challenges and so-so on the other three. I was genuinely surprised that I read an equal amount of fantasy and contemporary books. I’m equally surprised at how few retellings I read- I still have a ton on my TBR. But overall, I really enjoyed my reading year and tried not to pressure myself too much. I think it worked because I loved a lot of the books I picked up! I also completed my Goodreads Challenge of 70 books- I finished the year with 73 total. Here is the final tally (I also have these listed on my 2017 Reading Challenges page on the blog) :

Did you accomplish your reading goals for the year? What are you hoping to read more of this year? (For me, it’s historical fiction and more backlist!) Let me know if you loved any of the books I finished in 2017.
9 reread is fantastic. I really want to do more rereads this year. Last year I was only able to justify a measly two. You did phenomenal with both the flights of fantasy and contemporary romance challenges. I participated in the former and barely reached my goal. Hope you get to lots of historical fiction and backlist books this year!

I felt like 9 was SO much but apparently I read 9 a couple years ago too?! This year I’ll have to try to break double figures. I was surprised at how much fantasy and contemp I read to be honest haha!

I’m usually big on the fantasy front, but last year there was a huge shift and I’m picking up fantasy and contemporary in equal numbers.

You did amazing in your challenges! 9 re-reads are amazing! I’ve been trying to do more re-reads but I failed miserably last year. We’ve read quite a few of the same books actually, there is a ton of ones you read that I want to get to this year. I really want to finish up To All The Boys I loved before series.

Thank you!! I don’t know why it’s so hard to justify rereading because it’s such a lovely and relaxing feeling. Oh nice, I hope you enjoy them! I loved that series a lot.
