Happy Halloween, lovelies! ‘Tis time… for another book tag and I am super glad I found the Hocus Pocus book tag on The Wanderlust Reader. What could be more perfect to end October?
THE SANDERSON SISTERS: A GREAT TRILOGY
The Shades of Magic trilogy has everything I look for in a fantasy series. I’m excited to reread it soon!
WINIFRED SANDERSON: A BOOK WITH A TRULY EVIL FEMALE VILLAIN
Queen Levana from the Lunar Chronicles. I thought Fairest would give us some empathy for her but it just made her seem even more psychotic and disturbing.
SARAH SANDERSON: A BOOK THAT UNCANNILY ATTRACTS CHILDREN
Maybe The Hunger Games? For as bleak and intense as it it, it attracts a lot of young fans.
MARY SANDERSON: A BOOK THAT IS JUST PLAIN SILLY
My Lady Jane is charmingly silly in that Princess Bride sort of way. I laughed a lot!
MAX: A BOOK THAT IS TRYING REALLY HARD TO BE COOL, BUT DOESN’T ALWAYS SUCCEED
Royal Bastards- almost everything about this book rubbed me the wrong way and you can tell it’s trying so hard to be an edgy fantasy with its use of language especially.
DANI: A BOOK THAT ISN’T AFRAID TO TELL IT LIKE IT IS
I liked how In Other Lands handled certain situations head-on; even though it was a hilarious fantasy it still had such real things to say about relationships and growing up and prejudice.
BINX: A BOOK SERIES THAT JUST WON’T DIE
The Shadowhunter books by Cassie Clare. So many spinoffs and prequels and sequels that it makes my head spin.
ICE: A BOOK WITH A CHARACTER THAT’S DUMB AS A ROCK
Unconventional choice but I’m going with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire- specifically Ronald Bilius Weasley from the Harry Potter series, as in emotionally dumb as a rock. He doesn’t realize ANYTHING about his feelings for Hermione until too late, he doesn’t seem to realize that Harry doesn’t want all that attention, etc etc.
THE BLACK FLAME CANDLE: A BOOK OR SERIES YOU WISH YOU COULD RESURRECT
The Thursday Next series. Book 8 seems to be stuck in perpetual limbo…
HEADLESS BILLY BUTCHERSON: A BOOK THAT’S NOT SO BAD AS PEOPLE MAKE IT OUT TO BE
Stitching Snow. A lot of people look at it as a Lunar Chronicles rip off but I really enjoyed it and thought the similarities were cursory at best. It was definitely its own adventure.
WINIFRED SANDERSON’S SPELL BOOK: A BOOK WITH A MIND OF ITS OWN
The Outlander series- I could never have imagined in a million years the paths the characters would take and where the story would end up from Book 1 to 8- it really does seem to be a series with a mind of its own!
GARRY MARSHALL: A BOOK WITH A CAMEO
Waistcoats & Weaponry- I love spotting familiar characters from the adult series.
I tag anyone who’d like to participate! Hocus Pocus is a year round movie for me 😉
Haha I totally agree with you about Ron– he’s so oblivious!! Happy Halloween 🙂

I thought for sure you had made this, the theme is just too perfect! I loved Stitching Snow too, it was definitely dark than Cinder and I liked that a lot! I miss that book, I kind of want to reread it now.
AND I FEEL YOU ABOUT ROYAL BASTARDS. It was trying soo hard to have cool lingo but it was a fantasy book? It wasn’t my fave of anything.

So fun right 🙂 I bet it won’t haha! Part of me wishes I loved the books because then there’s always something to look forward to but I’ve only read City of Bones and it wasn’t for me.
