high five
Flights of Fantasy (3 books)
#flightsoffantasy

Royal Bastards by Andrew Shvarts- 1.5 stars. I liked the basic story at first even though it’s ordinary, but the dialogue felt oddly modern, the romance was eye-roll worthy, and I couldn’t stand the heroine. Very ho-hum which is unfortunate.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling- 5 stars. I hadn’t read this in years and it was as masterful and devastating as I remembered. The epic tale of Harry Potter indeed.

Grounded: The Adventures of Rapunzel by Megan Morrison- 5 stars. The perfect mix of adventure, delightful details, emotion, character, and fairy tale. My favorite sort of fantasy.

Retellings Reading Challenge (1 book)

tangledGrounded: The Adventures of Rapunzel by Megan Morrison- 5 stars. A favorite for sure. Even though this is a Rapunzel retelling, other tales are pulled into it as well! I love that mixture.

Rock My TBR (0 books)

None unfortunately, but I’m halfway through The Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman and I’m really enjoying it!

Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge (2 books)
#ContRom2017

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han- 5 stars. Such a delightful, cozy book and I love Lara Jean’s relationships with her sisters.

P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han- 4 stars. A worthy sequel! Just as charming as the first with more to think about. And of course, cookies.

ReReads (3 books)

winnie the poohHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling- 5 stars. “Whether by screen or by page, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.”

Grounded: The Adventures of Rapunzel by Megan Morrison- 5 stars. Even better on a reread! I picked up on all sorts of little clues, I loved Rapunzel even more, and I had forgotten just how emotionally intense and interesting this book was!

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han- 5 stars. The best sort of reread that feels like you’re wrapping yourself in a warm blanket.

How did this season of Bookish Bingo go for you? What was your favorite book in May?

Yesss! I also got three bingos which was definitely a surprise since I read like 8 books in April and May combined. So pumped for summer bingo! #napclubbingobuddies =D

Ugh that’s sad about Royal Bastards. I feel like I should skip it since definitely don’t have the patience for mediocre YA fantasy.

Yay to rereading 3 books! I ended up reading none in May, meh.

Woohoo!! You planned those 8 books perfectly then 😀 #napclubbuddies yessss. Yeah I don’t think you’ll love it, it’s worth skipping in my opinion. The queen of rereading took a break! But I saw you started ADSOM again, so 😉 Hehe here’s to a good June!

I’ve always wanted to do one of these Bingo challenges, but they always manage to go by without my noticing and then it’s too late. How are you doing with the Flights of Fantasy challenge? I thought I’d be doing better now that we’ve almost reached the half-way point, but there are just so many contemporaries this year that I find myself more drawn too. Hope you enjoy your June!

I found a nice, looks new copy of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before at the library book sale and paid 50 cents for it. I have been curious about this book, though. Although not as excited as I should be. I usually don’t read contemporary YA because I find it hard to relate to the characters.. haha

I have also been rereading the HP books! I am waiting for the illustrated books to come out, though so I stopped at The Chamber of Secrets.. 🙂

    Good luck with your challenges!
