The Totally Should’ve Tag

84 years.gifThis tag was created by Emma Books on YouTube (you can watch the original video here.) and I was tagged by Dani and Jessie of Ageless Pages Reviews….. ages ago haha.

A book that totally should’ve had a sequel
The Taming of the Tights by Louise Rennison. I thought the Tallulah Casey series was so much fun and it definitely needed another book or two to wrap everything up (including the love interests!).

A book or series that totally should’ve had a spin-off
Uprooted by Naomi Novik- I want to know more about the history of the Wood! And the Dragon.

An author that should totally write more books

Diana Peterfreund. More sci fi retellings with pretty dress covers please!

A character who totally should’ve ended up with someone else

Well I’m still hoping for Chaol and Dorian to realize how much they love each other IN EVERY WAY.

A book that totally should’ve ended differently

Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer. 8 years later and I’m still bitter. Also First & Then by Emma Mills. The book talks about the lack of kissing in Jane Austen books and in the biggest irony has only a few pages of true shipping at the end! I loved the book but felt cheated. And I’m echoing Ellis on her Georgia and Dave the Laugh feelings too. 10 BOOKS AND ALL WE GET IS A FEW MEASLY PAGES OF THEM ACTUALLY TOGETHER TOGETHER. We deserved more snogging and less Masimo. And now we’ll never have our adult Georgia book. I’m sad.

A book series that totally should’ve had a movie franchise

Unconventional because it’s not technically a series but I would love all of Kate Morton’s books as lush, complicated, romantic, period movies/miniseries, sort of like how all of Nicholas Sparks’ movies are a “series”. They have common elements and a recognizable look/name.

A book or series that totally should’ve been a tv show

The Lynburn Legacy by Sarah Rees Brennan or The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. Preferrably both, on Netflix. I NEED BOTH. Or The Boleyn Trilogy by Laura S. Andersen- everything Tudor is still very popular and this is a great twist on the traditional Tudor story (Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn have a son! Henry IX aka William.) I’m cheating so much with this question: The Dark Unwinding  by Sharon Cameron would be a really great miniseries too, maybe on Freeform or The CW. A mysterious estate, an eccentric uncle, slightly steampunk inventions, gothic feel, and romance. It would be lovely.

A book that totally should’ve had one point of view

Black Widow: Forever Red by Margaret Stohl. And you know who’s POV was the only one we needed and wanted? NATASHA. AKA THE BLACK WIDOW.

A book or series that totally should have had a cover change

The Glass Casket by McCormick Templemam. It strikes me as oddly sexual, which I don’t like and doesn’t really fit the book.

A book or series that totally should’ve kept the original covers

Born Wicked by Jessica Shea- the original was so unique and really drew me to the story. I would have loved to see the sequels in the same style. Also The Lake House by Kate Morton- the first cover was lovely and matched her other books and then they redesigned it! So sad.

A series that totally should’ve stopped at book one

The Selection by Kiera Cass. Book crack at its most alluring. Make the first book longer and leave it at one book. Stretching it to FIVE (even with a change in protagonist) is toooo much.

I would die, it would be a perfect tv show!! Plus I want to see who they cast and where they film and gosh now I want to reread the series haha. Yes! That’s a good way to describe them. Plus I thought they looked like every other cover out there; the first was more original.

Ahah I am glad you are doing this one — I had a lot of fun with it.

    I am 100% here for an Uprooted spinoff/sequel/prequel I DON’T CARE GIMME.

Diana Preterfeund gets the beeeest covers. All I know is I own all of them and have read none because PRETTY.

Dorian and Chaol is our fantasy Stucky and IT IS REAL.

I had never considered this but I love your angle for Morton movies. I think that would be cool 00 linked and recognizable. I’d go see them all let me tell you what.

I am never gonna be over or okay with Born Wicked redo. THAT COVER WAS PERFECT.

aLSO YES WHO IS READING THESE SELECTION BOOKS? Is it Dani? I know its Dani. DAMNIT DANI STOP.

      It was very fun!!

SAME SAME I want to know everything and I just want more of that writing and that world.

Ahaha I loved both books but I probably would have bought them anyway. They’re so gorgeous!

TIL THE END OF THE LINE. I think it makes me super mad because we could conceivably get Dorian and Chaol if it wasn’t for Certain Tendencies of the author. I mean. The missed opportunity is REAL.

Omg me too, Morton Club movie night! But you know what I mean? Everyone knows what a Nicholas Sparks movie entails haha. We can brand Kate and get these lush, gorgeous, tragic movies at the same time!

ahahaha I read the first three and nope’d out at the spin off sequels.
