ContRom2017: Favorite Shippy Books

I never used to think I was a big contemporary reader. Sure, I loved a good romance and I adore rom com movies, but it wasn’t until the end of last year that I realized a quarter of the books I read were contemporaries. It seemed like a good time to join the Contemporary Romance Reading Challenge, hosted by Andi @ Andi’s ABCs this year!

yesssss
The theme for February is favorite shippy books and I’m squeezing in at the deadline with my post 😉 If you know me even the teensiest bit, you’ll know that I LOVE a good romance and therefore a good ship! I absolutely love rooting for an awesome couple and squeeing at the cuteness along the way. Nothing makes my reading experience more enjoyable than a wonderfully written romance comprised of my favorite elements. My most common rereads are contemps for this reason! I love anticipating the banter and all the smile inducing moments. And since this is for the ContRom2017 challenge, I’ll keep my list of Favorite Shippy Books to contemporary books (otherwise we could be here all day!).

One more note: some readers might not differentiate between a favorite ship and an OTP, but I do. Sometimes my favorite shippy books contain one of my OTPs (I will NEVER pick just one!!) but sometimes I love the romance a lot and that’s that. The line isn’t always clear but generally speaking OTPs take up a lot of my brainspace, inspire daydreamy headcanons and tumblr searches, etc. So. That would be a whole OTHER list (comprised of some of the follow couples).

Have you read “Adorkable” by: Cookie O’Gorman? Because oh man, I ship the ship in that book SO HARD.
Some of my favorite shippy (contemporary) books are (that aren’t included on your list)… the Princess Diaries series (Mia and Michael!!), The Loose Ends List, Emmy & Oliver, Just One Day duology, Everything Everything, Things We Know By Heart, There You’ll Find Me, and the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series.

(also hi! we totally need to find a way to talk more, because i think we’d get along really well and we have a lot in common!)

I haven’t but I just added it to Goodreads, it sounds super cute! And I am always down for a new ship 😀 Oh man, I think I read the first 3 Princess Diaries books a long time ago, I remember liking them! Just got Emmy & Oliver from the library. For sure, I’m trying to be around on twitter more DMs wise! Starting this new job has been exhausting even though I love it haha.

I’m with you on ship vs. OTP! There’s a difference between the couplings you fall in loooove with completely / think about too much, and the ones with a really solid ship/romance plotline. Loved so many of these books too!

I love this post, I love it for its contents and because it’s the perfect Morgan post lol. I love how enthusiastic you are!

This post is bad for my TBR. Thanks to it I’ve now added Shuffle, Repeat & The Only Thing Worse Than Me is You ( I think Angie also loved this one?) & Dating Sarah Cooper to my TBR.

I have an ARC of First and Then and… never got to it. I am ashamed of this and myself.

Ooooh The Hating Game.. I feel like every week I check the author’s Goodreads page for title/release date for her next book, lol.
